So ... what will your choice be? (Or if none of the above, post here ) Personally i will go with a few friends, trying to drag a few fun/good people with me if possible. Some have already told me they would want to come along so here's a short list For sure: Dexa, myself, Darknot, Kadaverku, Lofving, Orenthal (for those who remember him) Maybe: Garion, Mymos, Akina, Skilgannon, Borgus Plus a few of the old Dark age of Camelot players and hopefully a few more of you. I am hoping to arouse your interest by posting this, please drop me a tell or post here if you would like to come along!Good to know would be: A lot of the old Prydwen / DaoC players will be going for the "Bad" side. Probably we will be going for the "Good" side to bash their heads in for old times sake

I can't say for myself, but before Para notices this and decides to post, I can troll that he is going to drop WoW and go play WAR as soon as it comes out. So, PO will die then, or at least stop raiding progress completely. EDIT: Oh yeah, I voted 'I won't be playing', although that is obviously a lie.

even tho chances are thin the game will be even remotely close to daoc in pvp, i will try it out, and ofcourse i'll be a chompy ork. (WAAAGH!) also, WAR isnt scheduled to be released any time soon, with the beta having been shut down by mythic because of various critical flaws and shortcomings and all that.. that said, age of conan pvp = daoc rvr and it gets released end of march, so i'll be sure to try out that one --edit : typoe gyu two teh resceu!

Why switch from one fantasy-mmo to another fantasy-mmo with practically the same setting, same races etc? Especially considering greenskins in War really look like crap in tbh. So chances are very slim that I would go from a WoW to another WoW-type MMO. Id rather stay in WoW now that it is relatively bug-free then go to a completely new game with practically the same setting but probably tons of more new buggs and imbalance-issues like WoW had in the start. Should I ever try out War I would most likely be on the bad-guy side and try one of those chaos-warriors.
When I switch MMO it will be to a sci-fi mmo. Personally hoping for World of Starcraft as blizzards next big project. But another game I'm looking forward to is Perpetual Dawns' Star Trek Online

Most likely going to give it a try, as i am an addict in the end, if pvp works out cool, i might play if i manage to fix a cool group or so
Oh yes, i am going to be goblin shaman 90%(cmon, they got spell called "Shroom Powwa" or smth..that's just too cool)
Ofc, i might be broke from poker by then, or god forbidden, stuck in IRL.
Only going to play the game if it's playable 1-3 night per week btw and with 5 ppl(as with 1 group). So no raiding games for me:)
The End

Well, I'm most likely going to try it, but I haven't really been checking on progress since it's most likely going to be delayed even further.

Will hopefully resist the temptation to play another MMO for a while longer, at least atm while I don't really have the time at home to take advantage of the monthly fee. An MMO is a curious thing...never enough time to play as much as you'd like to and since I'm rarely at home there's not much point pretending that I'll play it Though I'll happily throw up a forum/site for any organised effort.

What are u guys laughing about? that Voss is making a a Goblin shaman? Frankly, i am going to make one too, because he is.
I think Voss is actually the greatest guy ever and he is pretty hot.
I am now off to work on my shot rotations, to extend my good damage even further, there is however high chance of my evil twin brother hacking my acc and posting bollox about orc shamans, in that case, could admins please temporally ban him?
Edit: Fixxed 2 typos

major flaw (imho) in this game is that theres only 2 warring factions, as opposed to the lore, where all factions are in constant war against eachother.
this gives little or no incentive for "politics" and surprise attacks like in daoc, where you always had to keep in mind what the third faction would do...
but beside that, i'll try it out ofcourse.

Read an interesting(and very long) article about WAR on MMO-Gamer that you can find here: http://www.mmo-gamer.com/?p=333Here's some parts of that article that I found interesting, and alarming. Ofcourse there's alot of good and creative things about the game in the article also: ...the following represents the very first impression that came into my mind, from the moment the loading screen had passed, as near as I can recall it: This looks a hell of a lot like WoW. And it did. There was no denying it. From the low-poly engine, to the cartoony models, even the UI layout—everything had an immediate sense of… familiarity. It was nearly déjà vu… as if suddenly it were 2004, all over again. Well, I told myself, appearances can be deceiving. Don’t judge a book by its cover, and all of that. Let’s see how it plays. Unfortunately, this thought was very shortly thereafter followed by another: This plays a hell of a lot like WoW, too. Once again, there was the immediate sense of familiarity. Similar skills, similar casting times, similar mana requirements… tab to target, press 1 for Blaze, repeat until dead… Replace “Blaze” with “Frostbolt” and I was already having horrid flashbacks of nearly wearing out the 1 on my keyboard through two years of heavy raiding. Even the universal cooldown seemed to be on nearly the exact same timer. But, of course, first impressions are very often misleading. The more I played, the more I saw that while there were many similarities to WoW, there were just as many differences. The graphics, while admittedly drawn from the same vein, are darker, the textures having a certain grit to them, lending the game a more somber atmosphere. I didn’t see one purple tree or pink striped tiger the entire time. And, as everyone from Mythic I spoke to was very quick to point out, it was Warcraft that ripped off Warhammer, not the other way around. Alright… so maybe the game wasn’t exactly trying to reinvent the wheel. That’s fine. As long as it’s fun and entertaining to the point of justifying $14.95 a month, it doesn’t need to. Unfortunately, what I saw that day of the early game was not particularly fun, or entertaining. I made it a point to log in to each available newbie area in turn, and note the very first quest the NPC standing nearest the character’s starting position offered. I’ve always been of the opinion that the first quest is the most important of the entire game. This is where you get your hook into a potential player. Nothing less than your absolute best will do. With this in mind, the quests I received were, in no particular order: Kill three bandits. Kill five squibs. Open some barrels. Kill zombies and loot their body parts. The second and third quests didn’t get much better. At this point I would like to issue a retraction of my prior statement. This wasn’t 2004 all over again. This was 1998 all over again. ... Summarizing a 4,000 word writeup… When all is said and done, what was my overall impression of Warhammer Online? That it’s going to be a solid horserace for a new number two MMORPG this year between it and Conan. Taking into consideration Funcom’s checkered history in the genre, and what I would assume to be the greater popularity of the Warhammer universe over Conan, I’d put my money on WAR. Why settle for number two? Well, let’s not kid ourselves here; nothing is going to touch WoW until World of Starcraft is released. And, if EA, Funcom, or anyone else has even the slightest notion of trying to release within the same 90 day period as Wrath of the Lich King, may God have mercy on them, because Blizzard will have none.

nice read, although from what i read pve in WAR is just like pve in WoW (kill this guy, go to that place, kill 30 of those mobs, go over yonder hill and talk to random NPC #23) WAR will be rvr driven, or it will not be driven at all - i say. much like daoc was PVP as incentive for pve, thats the way to go

So ... what will your choice be? (Or if none of the above, post here ) Didn't vote, will probably be trying both sides, hopefully seeing a few familiar faces along the way. If I buy it, that is. So, shout when you've decided... But after being horde for so long in WoW, it would be hard to play a goody-two-shoes.

well all races in warhammer are badass, they all look like they could rape women and drink the blood of their enemies. and theres no room for nobility in any race (unlike noble orcs and tauren in warcraft) every single person in warhammer is either vile, vicious, brutal or sneaky... and sometimes all of those ;p no palce for goodie2shoes in there

I certainly wil give WAR a try too and well Theres really no choice on what side I will be......Greenskin is just too cool. I'm hoping for some basisc PvP or RvR style game and I totaly agree with Mordur PVP as incentive for Pve not the other way around is how MMOPRG(s should be. Farming BG for hours to get some decent arena gear is not the way to organise PvP imo .
