liking pvp doesnt make you good tho
fact is that wow pvp uses more or less the same basics as daoc or any mmorpg with teampvp
so comming to wow as a daocer gives you a major advantage on that area
if the games were totally different and none compareable that wouldnt be the case
and krak his comment is correct to some extend
PVP and being on top of the foodchain or rather trying to stay there keeps you on top of your game
which means you play at 100% or more of your abilities ( as luck usually is more common when youre pushing a game that much )
so yes that makes him better then 95% of the wow pvp players when the game is fresh like wow is atm coz the game hasnt really developed his own ways of playing pvp yet ( mainly because wow isnt a pvpgame obviously )
comes on top that most pvpers arent sharp at all in wow as they just drop in to have fun before the raid or to test their new epixx!
even those who do come with a raid or grp to actually try and win are usually still in pve mode playing like they are semi afk which is clearly noticeable @ skilllevel
but then again who needs skill in wow just stack up the right gear and pwn pwn pwn !
the free time argument is also wrong tbh ive heard that one so much even in other games , fact is yes there are people who get where they are cause of the time they invest but for some people its the way you spend your time , in a game like wow time invested is most important as the game is built on it majorly when you pve and with the battlegrounds also in pvp , but at start of retail the game was pretty easy in pvp you won fights primetime you were on top of the ladder. No leeching honor while afk or semi afk in battlegrounds etc, being active the entire day didnt give you any real advantage. Sadly blizzard turned the tide on this one...
some anecdote connected to this :
i was one of the first 60s on the server and i got flamed for it pretty badly , people pming me i had no life etc and so on
funniest was those people flaming me like that were actually those who started with me at the release of the game and actually spend more time ingame then me
and i know plenty of people like this and even more in other games ( as they are less time oriented ) yet they get the same comments
before you make a comment like that you should always check your own /played tbh and shiver how much time you invested in the game already wether you achieved something in it or not
