Would be nice to get some theme installed that most people like, so if you want some input on the overall look and feel of the forums take a trip to http://themes.simplemachines.org/ and let me know your favourite 3 themes. I can then have a fairly decent idea which ones I should install and tweak. Cheers

Ok, plan is to have 2-3 theme options available for ppl. Prolly find I change themes every couple of days for a bit to get some feedback...you don't really get to appreciate a theme until you used it a bit. I just switched the theme to one that I'm considering for a light coloured theme, so let me know what you think of it.

I like this one tbh - pretty simple. But is it just me, or are there no way to see what posts are new in a topic? I realise theres a "new" button you can press, but you cannot see it inside the post

I like the one with white and light grey background and yin-yang symbols, incidently that is the one you are using right now

Death doesn't really sting. Nerf, however, is incredibly painful. Curiosity killed the cat, but what if the cat's undead?

But is it just me, or are there no way to see what posts are new in a topic? I realise theres a "new" button you can press, but you cannot see it inside the post I think the threads with new posts show up with a icon after the thread title when you view the board, think this is what you mean't? But no, I'll agree its perhaps not quite so easy to see whats what sometimes (partly just cos its different)

That i know - and i do like that you're able to press those icons - i mean while you're actually reading the thread, you cannot see which posts are new and which arent But i dont think you could do that with the original scheme either. Dunno if its just something to live with or

I like a light theme ... the current one is ok, though maybe a bit too light after all .. instead of white/light gray i'd light it toned down a tiny bit. Examples would be classic/Mercury, modern/Amber or modern/Epsilon - the last being my favorite of those three. My main concern with the current forum setup though is not so much the color but that it blows up every single post considerably ... just look at the short posts (only one line long) ... with all the bells and whistles around the actual space filled is 5 times what the post itself takes up. No clue if that can be solved by a theme at all though.

Not too keen on this theme, is there any option you can add in the my account/profile part of the forum to select their own? (setting saved as cookie or something on the persons local computer)
PS. I like the features of this new site, specialy the "Show unread posts since last visit" link at the top.

I can allow members to choose their own theme, but since each theme needs stuff adding like buttons etc I've disabled that atm. I do plan to allow a choice of themes in time, but I'm hoping for some ideas as to which I should work on

I tried surfing trough the 3 of them, seemed to me the black one was pretty "heavy" - but i liked it. But of those 3 it doesnt really matter to me, prefere the black one or Themis

Well all 3 I've made available are pretty much done, sothere shouldn't be any problem with allowing people to pick which their favourite is, will probably stick with themis as the default though
